I’ve used dozens of content management systems during my 7 year career as a web content specialist, and I will say that I would not recommend any one of them. One of them was extremely slow, taking at least 3-5 minutes to complete each action, one of them was constantly broken, with tools and features either missing or not functional, tripling the amount of time it would take to complete a task. One of them was extremely unorganized, and didn’t allow for easy search of specific content, sometimes not allowing search at all. I decided that I’ve had enough of inefficient and clunky content management systems that seem to demand more work than necessary, rather than being helpful. I decided to design my own content management system.
It does not have a name yet, but here are a few sketches I made, with brief descriptions. This new CMS is unlike others, capable of more than just content updating, and eliminates the need for third party tools such as photo editors, word processors, and data analysis tools. It is a one-stop-shop, and is designed to work for you, not the other way around.

A customizable dashboard with accurate, easy search
The main dashboard showcases a large search bar, and the catalog of most recent pages that can be filtered and sorted upon the user’s needs. The search bar accepts most queries, and the user may enter a page’s URL, slug, keywords, meta description, title, or part of the body text, author, date published, etc. This feature eliminates the need to search for a page’s title when the user knows its URL, and vice versa, for example.
For large websites that have multiple sub-sites or geos, those individual sites can be navigated to from the left navigation.
An Advanced Search that does more than extract data
The Advanced Search feature of the CMS allows the user to create complex queries and export data for further data analysis.
An all-in-one image component and editor
The image component and image gallery allows the user to upload an image, edit it, apply its metadata, and organize the gallery, and download images all in one place. There is longer a need for a separate tool to resize, crop, and organize images.
A word processor, in a text component
A text block that is a compact word processor. The user can enter text, format it, search, and insert other media all in one place, including adding a dynamic table of contents, similar to the one from MS Word. Say goodbye to copying and pasting text and components from several other tools.
